Sixteen Months With Our Sweetie

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new baby girl and it seems that with all of the excitement I have forgotten to keep everyone updated on everything that our "Sweetie" has been up to!

At (about) sixteen months Abigail is...

-Walking/Running everywhere. She moves a million miles a minute. She never seems to stop.
-Climbing on everything. I frequently catch her with one leg up on everything.
-A parrot. Aby repeats everything we say her latest words include. " rock, bible, cheese, ball, book, bird (biop), gingy, doggy....and many more.
-She put two words together for the first time yesterday...unfortunately they were "nooo maaamaa"
- learning to eat with a spoon/fork. She makes a huge mess but can at least dip her utensil in the food and put it in her mouth....most of the food ends up on her or her bib but she is defnitely improving.
-She loves to throw her ball.
- She currently has 8 teeth and has 3 visible teeth that are coming in. She has 2 others that are getting ready to come through.
- She loves her dog. She loves to lay in Gingers bed and give her kisses on her nose. She also likes to pull on her ears.
- She is in the 95% for her height...and can reach everything on the dinner table...we are worried that it won't be long before she climbs out of her crib.
- She goes to bed at 8:30 and wakes up between 8 and 8:30 every morning and takes one 2 and a half hour in the afternoon.
-She loves fruit and will hardly eat anything else if she knows there is fruit to be had. A few of her other favorites include cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs and of course the occasional Chick-fil-a kids meal (including chicken nuggets/fruit cup and apple juice).
-She still loves music. She is a dancing machine.
-She loves her babies and rarely leaves the house without her purse. It is too cute watching her rock her baby and pat its back, and then stuff it in her purse!

We love our Sweetie.

The Little Ladies Room

It is nearly impossible to get a photo of the girls room that actually looks anything like the room itself so here are few. Have fun piecing them together. I love the way that the room has come together, it's crazy to think of all the changes we have made in the two years that we have owned our home!

Quotes.

A couple of my favorite quotes from this weekend...

Olivia(age 2)
As I enter the room she points at my belly and says "ball!" After explaining to her that it was a baby in my belly she repeated (for the next hour) "baby come out you tomach?" and attempted to look up my dress to see the baby!

Emma(age 9) "Abigail are you climbing on your mommy's tummy like a mountain...because it is kind of like a round mountain?"

These girls are so adorable, gotta love em!

Baby Book Shower

This past Sunday our church family gave us an amazing baby book shower. Because we have everything we could possibly need for our little angel our church decided it would be fun to have a shower and ask everyone to bring their favorite childrens book! It was so much fun and the girls got some great books! I also asked that everyone sign the inside of the book that they gave so out little ladies will know who got it for them! I didn't have a chance to take many pictures but hopefully I can snag a few from other people at the shower...for now here is a picture of the super cute Dr. Suess themed cake!

"A Persons a Person...No Matter How Small"...LOVE IT!

Trees

Last year we planted a small Red Bud and a Dogwood and WE DIDN"T KILL THEM! We were so excited on Easter when we spent some time outside and noticed our little trees were budding! We never got back out to take pictures while they were in full bloom but I assure you they were beautiful!

Cincinnati

We decided to take a mini-vaca to Cincinnati before the baby's born. We spent the day at the aquarium and had a fun night relaxing at the hotel. Abigail wasn't too impressed with the indoor pool, the other kiddos were a little loud for her but she had lots of fun swimming in the bath tub in her new (adorable) swim suit. It was a nice time to enjoy each other's company before we become a family of four!

Elijah!

I am so excited to announce that our friends Amanda and Shelby are heading to Korea TONIGHT to pick up there little boy! We are super excited for them and can't wait to see little Elijah! Please continue to pray with us that everything goes smoothly during their time in Korea, especially on the flight back (it is about 15 hours long)! Congratulations Amanda and Shelby!!

In no particular order...

here are a few photos from our most recent trip to Texas!

Cutie

For the past few weeks my blood pressure has been slightly elevated, coupled with a trace of protein in my urine and the headaches I have been having lately my doctor wants me to rest as much as possible for the remainder of my pregnancy. I am not officially on "bed rest" and I don't think there is anything to worry too much about but I figured this would be a great opportunity to do a little blogging! (My doctor must have forgotten that she just delivered a bundle of energy 15 months ago when she told me to rest as much as I could)

Isn't she a cutie...

Sling Recall

Several people have mentioned the recent sling recall to me and have expressed concern about my using a sling with Abigail, and my plans to use a sling with Maddie I wanted to reassure anyone with concerns that the sling I use is not the same as those being recalled and is perfectly safe when used properly! Thanks for the heads up about the other types of carriers I would never want to put my little ladies in danger! Here is a link to the recall notice for anyone who is interested.

Praise the Lord

I got a call from the children's director at BSF and MY favorite coat was returned!

Best friends...

No matter what Abigail is doing...

Ginger is always close by...

They are absolutely best friends.

Princess Aby

What a cutie.

I made this...

Tonight I made these yummy pork chops and these delicious green beans and some mashed potatoes ( they were from a box, I won't lie). Finish it off with a couple scoops of Greater's and you have yourself a very happy pregnant lady!

Tomorrow....I will attempt to make these sugar cookies( just for fun)!

And Friday I have already planned to whip up some Texas Caviar for a party we are going to!

Have I mentioned lately how much I love food.

Cute.

I love these photos of Abigail at 6 months...

I made this...

I told you I have been obsessing over food lately and when I saw this recipe I had to make it. It took me about an hour to cook, and smoked up the entire kitchen but it was pretty yummy.

31 Weeks (and 3 days)

Today I am 31 weeks (and 3 days) pregnant, and this is whats going on....

- I am completely and utterly food OBSESSED! I spend the better part of my days thinking about food, eating food, preparing food, cleaning up after eating food, and reading food blogs. I have now turned to my husband to help support my food habit, he has been reading my food blogs and helping my decide which recipes I should cook.

- I have gained about 17lbs. I am pretty proud of this because during my last 40 weeks of pregnancy I gained 40lbs! I would have to gain another 25lbs in the next 9 weeks to reach the same weight I was when I went to the hospital to have Aby...it's comforting, but also completely possible due to the aforementioned food obsession!

- I am very comfortable. If you heard me complaining about my bones aching and a constant feeling that Madeline was about to fall out, have no fear I am feeling much better. She has relocated to my ribs and I prefer this, I am aware of this feeling as it was Abigail's favorite place to burrow.

- I have indigestion quite frequently but I have learned to enjoy TUMS. They are like a pre/post dinner mint without the minty part (I told you I am food obsessed, at least I haven't starting eating dirt yet)

- Madeline is about 16 inches long and weighs 3lbs! She will be gaining about 1/2 a lb a week for the remainder of my pregnancy. Please pray that she will be smaller than Abigail. I need a small baby. I think I have earned it.

- We set up the crib in Abigail's room (now to be called "the girls" room).

-We drug out the bassinet and set it up in our room.

-We are relocating the glider to the basement (the only safe place for Aby in our house at this time).

-We have the swing up and ready.

-We purchased a new carseat for Aby (mostly because she out grew it and..) to free up the old one. The old one that is only one year old and in almost perfect condition!

- I have sorted through all of Aby's old clothes and put the ones with the least amount of poo and spit up stains in Maddie's dresser.

Over all I think we are about ready. I have a little more painting to finish and as soon as I get the bedding I will post a few pictures of the girls new room. It's funny how much we have changed Aby's room around this year.

Sorry I have been so terrible about updating you all about my pregnancy it has honestly been a mad house around here. Luckily I am only working PRN for the remainder of my pregnancy AND I will be coming home for a week long visit next week to fill you all in on the details!

My favorite Coat

I am sad to report that Abigail's adorable little petty coat is gone, hopefully not forever.I loved it. She wore it everywhere, it fit perfectly into her car seat. If you are wondering where it has gone it was taken (by accident I hope) last Wednesday by one of the other children in Abigail's Bible Study Fellowship class. My hope and prayer is that they will return it...unfortunately I know how cute this coat is...

Abigail in mourning...

In Love

I can admit that I am in LOVE with Abigail's new kitchen and that I may like it a little bit more than she does! Can you blame me...
