We went to the Doctor and everything is going great with the pregnancy. Here are some pictures of the baby. We still dont know if its a boy or girl. We are going to be surprised.

Week 18

Sorry, I have been unable to blog for so long. I know that everyone is anticipating how big my belly is getting...unfortunately I have little to show for all of the hard work that my body has put into making this baby. The baby is about 5 inches long and only weighs 5oz. I am going to the Dr. next week to not find out what it is and have my sonogram to check for any birth defects. I felt the baby move for the first time on Tuesday and again on Wednesday. Our good friend Shelby May is finishing up the baby's crib! I can't wait for yall to see it! It is amazing.

Week 12.

I am half way through week 12 and my baby is about 2 1/2 inches long. The baby's fingers and toes have seperated and its hair and nails continue to grow. The vocal cords are are forming and the baby can now smile, frown, and suck it's thumb. The genitals are taking on their gender characteristics.
I haven't had much morning sickness (just a little nausea) and the only craving I have had is for a Big Mac. I put it off for several weeks but I couldn't shake it, I gave in and had one for dinner tonight. I think it will be the last Big Mac of my adult life. I am pretty emotional when I am not pregnant and it has been magnified since I found out I was pregnant. I cry/tear up at least a dozen times a day.

Hiking With The Mays

A few weeks ago we took a little hiking trip with our good (great, best) friends, the Mays. We had a great time, the weather was gorgeous and we can't wait to do it again!



We also stopped at Mcdonalds for ice cream!

We received several cards in the mail congratulating us on our new addition. We really appreciate all of ya'll love and encouragement We are so excited to bring a new baby into such a loving and supporting family!

Birthday Celebration...and More

Today Stephen and I celebrated my 21st birthday! I made an appointment to get my hair done, opened a few gifts from Stephen and others that had come in the mail. We had a wonderful lunch at P.F. Changs (I had a lemon non-tini)and then we went to our favorite park for a little nap. This evening we celebrated with our small group with cake and ice cream. This was our last week at group b/c Stephen is starting his new job tomorrow and so we also talked a lot about all the changes that are going on in ours lives. We also had a great time of prayer with all of our friends! It is hard to leave such an amazing group of people so soon, we have been so blessed by them!

Week Eleven

If anyone were to walk up to me and say "hey, whats going on in your uterus?" I would gladly tell them...My baby has passed the most critical stage of development and the risk of developing any congenital abnormality is rare at this point! All of my baby's vital organs are fully formed and beginning to function, from this point on they will only grow larger. At this point my baby can yawn, suck, and swallow! By the end of this week my baby will have doubled in length. What an amazing little human!

10 Week appointment

I had my first prenatal visit yesterday. The Dr. said that everything looks good. She commented that my uterus was a little large...we were thinking that I may be further along than 10 weeks, she commented that it might also be twins this BUT the sonogram showed that we are having one baby (praise the Lord) and that I am only 10 weeks. The sonographer said that everyone has a different amount of amniotic fluid and that was what was making my uterus larger. The doctor said that I should only gain about 25 lbs the entire pregnancy and only 5 in the first 20 weeks. I have already gained about three so I need to be careful, she said that at this point I don't actually need any extra calories (unfortunately my stomach doesn't understand that b/c I am constantly hungry). We got to hear the heartbeat and see our little bean. I will have a picture up pretty soon. Our baby is 1 1/2 inch from crown to rump. I will go back to the doctor in four weeks!

Nikki's CRAZY week!

I had a wonderful trip to Dallas this past week. I enjoyed my time with everyone and wish that I could have stayed longer!
