Weight Check
We had our first Dr's appointment this morning to check Aby's weight, and I just wanted to let everyone know that she is 8lbs 3oz. She was 8lb 8oz at birth and 7lbs 15oz when we left the hospital. The Dr said she should be back to her brith weight by next week! He also did a complete physical assesment and said she is doing great all around!

Aby's 1st Bottle
Baby Update.
Aby
Abigail is doing great. She is eating every 2-3 hours and pooping/peeing in between. We have a weight check appointment in the morning, but all signs show that she is a happy, healthy, thriving little girl. Against the Dr's. advice we attempted to let her sleep in our room (in the bassinet) the first night home from the hospital and it was a nightmare! Every time she wiggled her pinkie toe it woke us up and we had to make sure she was okay. Last night was substantially better. We put her in her crib and turned the monitorr down low (of course the door was open and we could here everything that the monitor picked up) and she was great, only waking us up when she actually needed something (diaper change, eating, and gas drops) Aside from all of the important things like gaining weight, good sleep habits, and digestion I think she is getting cuter everyday. She is making new faces everyday, my favorite is when she is done eating she purses her lips as tight as she can, as to say stop trying to stick that thing in my mouth!
Mommy
Nikki is feeling much better. She is getting lots of rest, drinking lots of fluids and eating well. She doesn't mind the night time feedings as long as she can get some rest in between and can't wait to get out of the house and back to her daily routine.
Daddy
Stephen is beaming, I can't think of a better name for our little girl than one meaning " the joy of the father". She is definately living up to her name! Stephen is changing diapers, cooking meals, doing laundry, and helping Nikki with anything that she requests, while playing with Aby, talking and reading to her (while she is sleeping mostly), and cuddling her! He is definately in love.

Belly Shots.
Progressive Dinner.
Last night we had a progressive dinner for the youth, several of the members of our church opened their homes to us and the kids and each served us a portion of our meal. We started with appetizers, moved on to salad, enjoyed a spaghetti dinner, and ended with dessert and a gift exchange. The kids all dressed up and were all very well behaved and everyone seemed to have a great time! We were so proud of them!
Baby Shower in Lexington.
Today was our final baby shower here at home. Our church family gave us a wonderful shower, and I think we finally have everything that we need to bring the baby home!

Baby Shower in Dallas.
We traveled home over Thanksgiving for a quick visit and a baby shower! I was so excited to see everyone and for them to see me(pregnant), this was the only time during my pregnancy that our family got to see us in person! We had a great time, even though it was a short visit. Here are a few pics from the shower!

Baby Shower!
Today I had a baby shower in Louisville with the girls from our old small group! It was so nice getting to see everyone again! We attempted to identify different types of baby food, ate some great snacks and cake (of course) and the girls made me some onesies! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful group of girls to share the joy of new life with!
We can't wait to come home!
Stephen and I are very excited to see everyone next week but to be perfectly honest I think we are more excited to escape this winter weather! This morning as I am typing this it is 16 degrees outside!!! 16!!! We also had snow flurries all throghout the week with a decent size snow on Thursday night. Can you believe it is only November!

Baby Clothes.
We decided that it was about time to get something for our baby to wear home from the hospital. Stephen picked out a boy outfit and I picked a girls (originally it was the opposite but neither of us liked what the other picked, lol.)We finally agreed on these...
Benjamin Graham will be wearing...

(It says "snugglesaurus")
Abigail Grace will be wearing...

The next day I found them hanging in the baby's closet. How cute is this (I love my husband)...

The Crib.
Stephen's B-Day
Yesterday we had a lunch meeting with some of the youth parents and a few of the kiddos came along. The youth surprised Stephen by telling the waitress that today was his birthday! I was so proud, they remembered all on their own!

This morning I made him breakfast before he had to leave for work and he opened a few of his presents that arrived in the mail...

Ginger thought he needed her help.

29 Weeks
I am now almost 31 weeks and I feel much bigger than I did when we took this picture but this is the most recent belly shot that we have!

I went to the doctor on Friday and learned that I had gained a little more weight than I should have in the last two weeks. She said the baby is in good position (head down) and the heart rate was 147. The baby is moving constantly and it's getting a little harder to eat, I guess I am running out of space!
November is going to be an exciting month for us. We have disciple now coming in two weeks, the youth will be split up into small groups and spending the weekend at host homes. Some of our friends from Louisville are coming to help out and we will have 8 people staying at our home!!! The next weekend Amanda is giving me a baby shower in Louisville and that Tuesday we will be heading to Texas! I am so eager for my family and friends at home to see my big belly and feel the baby kicking! It has been an amazing experience and I wish that I was able to share it with them more!
