A message from Aby...

After the last video I turned over the camera for a few moments and here is what Aby had to say...or eat.

Walking...or not.

Aby is much more interested in whatever we have than any toy we could give her. This was an attempt at showing you how well she does with her new walking toy. Unfortunately, Aby falls once and then ditches the toy and comes after my camera. She is too much these days.

Abigail does this every time we put any toys on her highchair. We think it's pretty funny.

Sorry that I haven't updated in forever. It has been a little busy here since we got home from Texas last week. I am still playing catch up with work and laundry and obviously blogging! Here are a few old pics until I get a chance to upload some of the few photos I have actually taken over the past few weeks.

Am I the only one who cannot believe that this little angel has turned into...



this little wild child! She is into everything! Everyday I pick up the dogs bowl because she sticks her hands in the water, I raise the mini-blinds a foot above the ground. I can't load the dishwasher unless she is buckled into her highchair or up in her room... she is a mess!



Can anyone guess what this is??? If you guessed The Lion King you win (nothing)! We were having a youth scavenger hunt and because I am a terribly irresponsible mother I let this 16 year old young man lift my child over his head....but we got 100 points!



Maybe I haven't told you about this little duckling. Abigail has taken quite a liking to this little guy. She never cared about him as a wee baby when we strapped it to her arm ( its a wrist rattle) but now she can't seem to get enough of him. Stephen mentioned to me the he saw her playing with it and then I caught her emptying out her toy box to find it ( and when she finally did she carried it around all afternoon) and then again when I was telling someone the story of her affections for the rattle to someone from church who had babysat for us before she laughed out loud and said she held on to the silly things the entire night she was babysitting. It's funny how they choose what they love.

Sleepy Girl

While I was feeding Abigail before bedtime she fell asleep, unfortunately she wasn't in her pajamas yet. This is what happened when I put her on the changing table to change her diaper and clothes.... that's right she never woke up. She just rolled onto her side and sucked her thumb as if I had put her in bed. I noticed my camera close by and had to get a quick shot! She is so sweet.

That's right! Yesterday Abigail said her first words! She said mama and Dada in the same day! My little girl is a genius!

Literally.




We planted one jalapeno to see what would happen. We are planning what we want to put in our garden next year. We were too busy and too broke to start a garden this past spring. Hopefully we will do better than this next year!

Aby at Play.

Lately Abigail and I have been spending a lot of time in her room. After meals and naps I usually put a blanket on the floor in her room with a few of her favorite toys. I sit in my glider and read to her or to myself while she plays. She is usually content to do this for at least half and hour. I really enjoy being able to sit back and let her explore her room.

7 months

In case you didn't notice today is August the 12th. Today is actually my father's birthday ( Happy birthday Dad!) but this post isn't about him (sorry Dad) it's about my 7 month and 2 day old little muffin cup! I would love to say "she's getting so big" but we all know that would be completely false. Abigail is getting older, and wiser, and changing like crazy but her little body remains just that....little! My once hefty 8lb 8oz new born has turned into a skin and bones 13lb 7 month old. Don't worry (because I'm not) she is perfectly healthy!

So what is Aby up to...

She is pulling up on everything.
She is still in love with Ginger. There are up and down to this relationship sometimes Aby is pulling Ging's hair and other times she is feeding her a cracker, so she really can't complain (Ginger that is).


She is crawling around when he wants to but is generally pretty happy to sit or stand and play.
She is eating all kinds of fruits and veggies and still nursing 4 times a day,
She is talking to herself... but not saying anything that we have been coaching her to say like mama or Dada. I'm convinced she is doing this on purpose!
She very happy, always smiling.
She is teething, She currently has 4 teeth that have come through and I'm not 100% sure but I think her 3rd bottom tooth in coming in!


I have recently started working on some sign language. The book I am reading recommends starting at 8 months but I figure why not try now... .she doesn't get it at all!

She is my joy.

I haven't had much to report lately. Life has been pretty mellow at the Vedro's. I promise to have a post soon!

Slap Happy

In the past few weeks Abigail has gotten a little "slap happy" as I like to call it. Whenever she is playing or eating or really just enjoying herself she starts slapping whatever it is she is playing with. I think it's hilarious!
