A baby blanket

Abigail doesn't have a favorite doll or toy (yet) but in recent days she has latched onto a little blanket, that honestly looks like it should belong to a little boy. She loves it. When it gets close to nap time she will walk over to her crib and pull it through the slates and walk around her room with it. It's pretty dog gone cute if I do say so myself, even when she trips over it a little because as her face tumbles to the ground she nuzzles it in her blanket!

Mckmama and Madeline

I am frequent reader of Mckmama's blog. Sometimes we agree sometimes we do not, but a recent post of hers really made me think about a few things. Her post reminded me of something that I frequently forget. These times, these crazy time when I am up all hours of the night, constantly seeking a nap, doing dishes, folding laundry, rushing off to work, feeding Aby, bathing Aby, changing Aby's poopy diapers....and so on. These are the best days of my life, and when they are over and I have nothing do, Im gonna miss these crazy days. So, with this information at the for front of my mind, I rocked Abigail at nap time today, instead of letting her fall asleep in her crib. And, when I got home from work at midnight and heard a little tiny wimper, I went in her room, sat my (6 month) pregnant booty on the floor and I held her for as long as she would let me. I hope that as the business increases and the day to Madeline's arrival draws nearer I will remember that more and more. I am going to miss the days when I could hold Aby whenever I wanted and when I only had one child to please. I hope that I will be more patient and happy to be more appeasing to my little ladies needs. I also hope that when Madeline does arrive I won't be in a rush to see her roll over or sleep through the night and sit up and take steps because now I know that the days go extremely fast and one day, Im gonna miss them!

A little Piper Everyday.

We have decided on a name for our little girl. Madeline Piper. We realize that Piper isn't a popular name, and you may not even like it. My hope is that you come to know the man that we are naming her after very well in the next few months and by the time she is born adore her middle name. We are naming her after one the the greatest theologians of our time. He screams from the pulpit the things that bring our hearts the most joy. Namely,Jesus Christ and him crucified. Here are a few quotes and a short video to get you acquainted.

Happy Birthday baby girl! Today you're ONE! I can seriously hardly believe it. Everyone says that time will fly but I guess never quite understood! Today as we celebrate your very first birthday I am amazed at how much joy you have brought us, how much you have grown, learned, and taught us. You are truly a blessing from the Lord! So lets recap...



One year ago today at precisely 1:40pm you emerged into this great big world. You were so precious, and loud. We were actually happy to hear you cry, we were happy to watch you sleep, we were excited to change your dirty diapers because we were new, and you were ours! We loved you before you were born we waited anxiously for your arrival and you were perfect!




A couple of months go by and you rolled over, sat up and amazed us as you began sleeping through the night. When you smiled we first smiled we were ecstatic,and now at one you can...

- Walk but your still pretty wobbly
- Talk (Mama, Dada, Aby, Baby, Bye, Hi, and we swear you say "tis it?" meaning what is it?
-You love to dance, and we have music playing in your room constantly, you have also learned how to turn it up really loud.
-You can eat just about anything you want thanks to your 6 teeth.
- You have now switched from a bottle to a sippy cup and are drinking whole milk!
You love to play with your Daddy, you crawl all over him, and when he makes you giggle too much you get the hiccups!
- You sleep about 12 hours at night and take a long nap in the morning and mini nap in the evening.
- You are very easy going.
- You love, love, love Ginger and I love the fact that she cleans up all the food that you throw on the floor!

Pierogi

It's official, my little girl is a Pollock! She has now experienced her very first pierogi!

What about Christmas?

Oops. In all of the hustle and bustle surrounding the Christmas season I forgot to blog about the Christmas season! You all saw that we did put up a tree and even though we didn't get to the lights outside the house we did have a festive time! Unfortunately I had to work on Christmas eve and christmas day but that did dampen my spirits. Neither did the fact that Abigail and Stephen both had a stomach virus. I wasn't completely depressed that my little girl would not only not get to spend her very first christmas with me but also have to stay home sick all day, not depressing at all. So here is what we did do....

We made a lasagna as we do every year, we woke up and had a lovely christmas breakfast and opened presents before I left for work at 3pm.

Some people were worried that Aby might not have much to open on Christmas day because the gift that we are getting her is on back order ( I say "getting" because it is still out of stock) but have no fear the mailman brought plenty of presents from Texas, New Jersey and even a few from Kentucky!

Bounce U

The next day we took a trip over to Bounce U, they have several different inflatables like a giant slide, obstacle course and giant jumper. They let Aby go in for free because we were worried that she wouldn't like it or that the noise of the blowers woudl scare her. Fortunately for us she had a blast! She loved jumping and was cracking me up laying on her back rolling around on the inflatable. She also had fun going down the giant slide with her Gigi. The best part is parents jump for FREE...the worst part is that I was having so much fun bouncing Aby I forgot to take any good pictures! Here is what I have...

Lollipop

This past week Stephen stayed in Louisville and took a Jan term at the seminary. While he was away my sister, my nephews, and my mom came to visit. They helped us out in a huge way by keeping Abigail while I worked this week. I did have a few days off and we were able to take the kids out for a little fun. The first day we took a trip to Chuck E Cheese. The following video shows what happened after we turned in our tickets and there weren't enough for two lollipops!



So we asked for another...





For the record, this was Abigail's first lollipop!

Aby's First Steps

Dancing Queen.

Abigail loves music! Whenever a good song comes on she can't resist swinging her head and bouncing her hips. She will squeal with excitement and not stop until the music does...and even then she has a hard time regaining control of herself!

If you go to our church you may notice that we pick Aby up from the nursery a little early. We do this so that she can enjoy the closing hymns with us! She likes to sing along...She is just a little louder than the rest of the congregation!

Here she is one afternoon, after waking up from her nap. She gets a little fussy at one point, clearly she wants out of the crib!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

We finally got around to putting up the tree. I am so glad that Aby is old enough to enjoy her first Christmas! She loved the lights and the ornaments. I personally loved how cute she looks crawling and dancing around in her footie pajamas! What a sweetie!

Oh yeah...The park and Football.

For some reason...maybe I was running late for work, maybe it was 2am, maybe Aby was screaming like...well, a baby. I don't honestly know what happened but I forgot to write the second half of my previous post. This post...

During our recent trip to Texas we also spent a lovely afternoon at the park. The boys had fun playing on the playground. We had a nice sack lunch, my sister had fun taking photos of everyone and I enjoyed the 70 degree weather. Oh, how I miss you Texas weather.






Abigail was also inroduced to the Dallas Cowboys. She will be a fan, she really has no choice. Her G-ma and Pa smothered her with Cowboys paraphernalia and she even watched her first football game.

The Zoo, Trains, Park, and Football.

During our recent trip to Texas we made a visit to the Zoo. It was a beautiful day, and Abigail absolutely adored the animals. She was squealing at the parrots, and yelling at the lions. She loved the elephants who were particularly playful that day. Aby also enjoyed her very first carousel ride. All around we had a great day!







We also took an afternoon to visit the trains at the mall. Aby was mesmerized, Cooper was escaping, and Landon was in train heaven. I Think they all enjoyed it, yet at some point or another each of them took their turns screaming, for what ever reason.

18 Weeks.

Can you believe that I am 18 weeks pregnant already? If you saw my belly you might not believe it either. I have had no nausea, morning sickness, leg cramps, food cravings, nothing except a little (or a lot) of fatigue. The fatigue may be in part to keeping up with my 11 month old (I will be posting about this soon), working 3-11 four days a week, attending youth functions, attempting to keep my house in order, wash diapers, travel to Texas, have a date with my husband every once in a while and grow a healthy baby, but I'm just saying. I'm exhausted. This time in my last pregnancy this is what my belly looked like...




Unfortunately I don't have a new picture for you but I will work on that very soon. As for the baby he/she is about 5 1/2 inches long and weighs about an ounce he/she is about the size of the palm of your hand and I just read this morning that he/she now has fingerprints! How amazing is that!?! I can't wait to find out what we are having (Dec 18Th) and I absolutely can't wait to meet him/her!

You may not have known why but im sure you noticed my lack of blogging lately. We were sans internet here in the Vedro home for the past four months! I say WERE because we are back online! Stephen is going to be taking an online class next semester and I was basically going nuts without my daily dose of facebook and Mckmama fix. I don't know how anyone could survive without google, mapquest and youtube. How else do you find out how to cut a pomegranate or how to get anywhere and where else can you waste hours upon hours blogging to tell everyone you know how excited you are that you can finally blog again! Sorry to all of you who continued checking my blog everyday to see if anything had changed and the many many days of disappointment! Now, all I have to do is find time to actually take a picture!
