We stayed at a little condo about 5 minutes (walking) from the beach. It was at a resort that also had a few pools and a miniature golf course (not that we used it). A good friend of ours helped us get a great deal, her father actually owns the condo and while they usually keep it open for family they let us occupy it for the week! It was truly a blessing because we were debating a resort nearby for double the price when they offered to let us use it!

We didn't plan anything exciting for our trip, only to go to the beach! So, that's what we did! Every morning we got up had breakfast and headed to the beach, usually by 10am! This was great because everyone else on vacation (without small children) was still in bed! We went home for lunch and a nap and then did it all over again! A couple days I didn't want to fight with the sand twice so we went to the pool!

Abigail loved the pool, she never wanted to go to the beach. She loved the sand and the waves while we were at the beach but with an option she always picked the pool. She was adamant that we would catch a fish, and frankly so was I. We saw hundreds if not thousands of little fish all around our feet so I forced my husband into buying a little net and promised we would catch one! We failed miserably. Those little stinkers are fast! ;)

She also wanted to catch a bird, would not allow us to build any kind of sand castle-smashed it immediately, and would barely put her toes in the water without wanting t be held.

Madeline on the other hand loved the beach. She probably enjoyed this vacation more than any of us. She slept in every morning, ate cheetos and freeze pops, played in the waves, sat in the tide and loved the sand! We would take her out into the water and sit down on our knee's until the tide was waste deep or so and let the waves crash, Maddie would throw her hands in the air and laugh and clap and we taught her to say "woo-hoo" it was the most precious thing I've ever seen.

The ride home was a long one but we stopped a couple times to let the girls get their energy out and that definitely helped. Our last stop was chuck-e-cheese and I don't think they could have had more fun if they tried. We even got a slinky.
This was definitely the best family vacation we've had as a family of four!
Here are a few random pictures...

They took turns playing in the ice chest!

Dinner and a movie (toy story)!
