World Fest
These weekend was World Fest. It is a huge outdoor, concert with all kinds of vendors and different types of food. We heard a couple Jamaican band and some Latin music. We had some Chinese food, a German schnitzel, a Jamaican beef patty, we had some pineapple sorbet right out of the shell and some Thai shrimp balls that were very interesting. Unfortunately I forgot the camera but I just wanted to share with everyone what a great time we had. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Lan and Uncle Stephen.
Fat Friday.
The last Friday of every month is Fat Friday! The trolley is free to ride and all the local restaurants have samples, the shops have free wine and snacks. I had never heard of this so Stephen decided to surprise me. First we went to a little pottery shop where they let us make our own pot. It was so much fun! We did a little shopping had some great Mediterranean food and we finished off the night with some gelato! Here are a few pics!

Chinese Food
Tonight Stephen and I decided to cook.We usually buy something frozen and warm it up or throw something on the grill. Tonight I got out my cook book and we bought all the ingredients (cabbage, 2types of onions, fresh garlic, carrots, beef, pork, rice...) and we cooked for over an hour. We made Orange Beek Steak and Egg Rolls. We were planning on making a chocolate tart for dessert but after this work it will have to wait! We had a wonderful time cooking together. Here is a pic of our yummy dinner!!!

As of August One
Ok so here is whats going on:
Stephen went last week to his tour at UPS but discovered that there was not a shift that would allow him to take the classes he need for school. So Stephen has found work as a vallet attendant where he is able to study in the evenings. He began working last night and he worked today and he works tomorrow night as well. He is also going to be a salesman for an ink company starting next week.
Go Stevo Go! Sell that ink Stevo!!!
Nikki has been working this past week putting in long 12 hour days. Meanwhile Stephen has had the joy of preparing dinner for her. Here are a few photos documenting this sensational evening:

but poor ginger didnt get any attention:

so nikki trained her to give us her paw and then we would take her to the dog park:

Just a quick update...
I started my actual job on Monday. I work three days a week 7a-7p. It is pretty crazy being gone all day. I really miss Stephen. He started his job today so this is the way it is going this week...I worked yesterday and Stephen and I had dinner together last night. I left before he woke up this morning and I will be asleep before he gets home tonight. I will leave tomorrow morning and I will finally see him again tomorrow night! So basically we haven't spent ANY time together in 3 days. We are celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary this weekend and we will be able to spend some quality time together...I cant even imagine what it is going to be like when we are both in school!!!
Ginger has been getting some great exercise at the dog park just about every night. I also taught her a couple new tricks. She can sit, shake, lay, and now we are working on "would you rather be a liberal or be dead"...with this phrase she (obviously) plays dead. Its pretty funny. She is actually pretty smart. I didn't spend enough time with her at home but here she is out a lot and we take her every where with us...She is great company too while Stephen is working.

Friends.
I just thought I would let everyone know that we made some friends!!! YAY! We went to a new church this week. It was pretty small and everyone was really great. As soon as we walked in the greeter introduced us to a couple that just moved to Louisville from Florida for the same reason as us and they introduced us th there cousin and his new wife that just started at Boyce and they introduced us to a couple that just moved form Nashville and will also be attending the Seminary! It was great! We all had a long lunch after church and we plan on getting together with them again later this week. Whoo Hoo for young married couple who live in Louisville!

At least one of us has made friends.
Stephen and I road our bikes to the park today. We did about 15 miles in all. It was a beautiful day. The high was around 85 and most of the park is shaded so it felt great! After our trip we came home and packed a picnic for dinner. We took Ginger back with us because we see tons of dogs there.
Stephen tried to take a picture and she decided to poop!lol.

There were a couple of Great Danes at the park and I guess Ging was tired so she went underneath one of them and laid down. It was adorable but I couldn't get a picture.

A few of Gingers new friends.

This is "the hill" the bike loop is about 2 and a half miles around it. It is gorgeuos but it is extremely painful!

Finally.
We finally have the Internet. They came yesterday evening and installed it. We have emptied all of our boxes and put together all of our new furniture and now....we wait! We have gotten a little bored the past couple days. I don't start work for another week and Stephen has 3 weeks!!! We bought bikes and we have been going riding every night after dinner (we are both having trouble walking). There is a great park near us that has some beautiful scenery but the hills are killer on a bike. We also found a great ice cream parlor down the road (our bikes are drawn to it). We also bought tennis rackets, we pretty much stink butt we try! We also bought a grill ($10 from wal-mart....we aren't made of money) so Stephen made us some wonderful turkey burgers! We visited a church near our house on Sunday b/c the pastor there had graduated from the seminary the Stephen will be attending but we quickly found out the he graduated before the current president of the school took over...Southern was pretty liberal before. We probably wont be going back there but hopefully we will find a good church soon so that we can get plugged in and meet a few people. We haven't actually met anyone yet but that's okay for now. We did however find out that a couple of our neighbors go to the seminary...we haven't banged on there door yet begging for friendship...maybe tomorrow. We tried looking up tourist info to find something to do we planned on a float trip today but the river is too low and the Belle of Louisville (dinner/cruise) is too expensive. Most of the other things that sounded like fun were outdoors and its not Texas but its still 90+ out. Well that's about all that's going on here. I will update again when I have something a little bit more interesting!
