One Half.
Did you notice? Did it sneak up on you too? Abigail is 1/2 a year old! Shocking I know!

So here is what she is doing at 1/2 a year.
She is making all kinds of funny faces and sounds the latest is the pucker face, cuter than the previous "ba" face! We are working really hard to get her to say mama or Dada but so far all we get is "ba"...and a look of achievement as if she said what we asked her to!

Abigail loves to play. She has several new toys that are more age appropriate than her "baby" toys. She has a standing table that she can hold herself up on.
She sits with no trouble at all.

Aby is trying desperately to crawl, it will be soon. I am afraid I need to invest in a few gates!

We started Aby on a few solid foods! So far she has had carrots, green beans, sweet peas, squash, and most recently bananas. She doesn't seem to be a picky eater at all! I think she has enjoyed everything so far!

She never ever cries...she is always happy.

Except of course when she is throwing a bloody tantrum! Honestly, she isn't that bad. She truly only cries when something is wrong.
Because I just cant control myself, here are a few more from our trip! How cute is her little bath robe!?!

Daddy's Dainty little Darling.
During out trip to the beach I was seriously pleased to see how much Abigail enjoys spending time with her Daddy. It is pretty rare the he is home for an entire day much less able to actually relax and hang out with Aby and I. I am completely understand this because of the nature of his job, there is never a day off from the ministry. However, I wish that we had many more days like the past five. We spent every moment together and never got frustrated, never annoyed, never impatient (except when we we where starving and couldn't find the restaurant that we had driven 30 minutes to go to...we never did find it) we were able to relax and just take pleasure in each others company.
We took an umbrella to keep Aby out of the sun, it was rare that she would actually sit under it and play, she loved being in the waves! The sun must really wear her out because everyday after an hour or so she would poop out and take a long nap!

This is one of my favorite photos from out trip! I just love seeing them smile.

This would have been a great picture if the night setting on my camera was not so slow. The ocean is in the background, not that you can tell.

Abigail thinks that we are jungle gyms. She was climbing all over us this week. She can get anywhere she wants by pulling herself up, rolling, semi-crawling. It is incredible how fast they learn, and how strong she is!

Here is that silly "ba" pucker face she is making. She can't take her eyes off of her Daddy!

A few more just for fun...

My absolute favorite...I personally think this is hilarious!

I will always cherish these photos and the memories that go along with them.

Happy 4th.
I hope you all had a nice time celebrating our independence. We spent the evening with our neighbors. They have 3 teen boys that we are hoping to integrate into our youth group. We took this opportunity to get to know the family and hopefully this will open some doors to minister to them in the future.

(there is that face again)

Funny Girl.
Abigail has been making some very funny faces lately! One of these not so attractive faces even produced a word!!! Okay, so maybe it isn't a word but she has started saying Ba! Ba ba ba....she has said it several times over the past 2 days and it is very intentional. I am a little sad that it is no where near dada. I have been working on getting her to say dada for months! I am excited to see what she will say next. It is a quick jump from baba to mama!!!
She wanted the camera.

This is her baba face!

She wanted to show you all her teeth!

I thought this one was too funny not to share. Her little body is folded in half.

Ginger
The past few days have been rough for Ginger.
On Sunday night Ginger started yelping in pain and couldn't get up and down the stairs or even onto the bed. I decided around midnight to take her to the ER to see what the problem was. They jumped to a very scary conclusion that her stomach may have flipped which can be fatal without emergency surgery (that costs $5,000). We knew that we couldn't afford that so I took her home and we gave her some pain medicine. She did well through the rest of the night and I made an appointment the next day to see our regular vet.
He determined that she did not flip her stomach but instead has a bulging disk in her neck. He gave her a cortizone shot and some pills to take this week as well as a muscle relaxer.
She is feeling much better today but we aren't sure if she will need to continue taking medication in order to function normally without having any pain. The vet said that if it doesn't go away on its own (highly unlikely) that she would need surgery which is something we are not willing to do for various reasons. Needless to say it has been a tough couple of days for Ginger as well as us.
Luckily the medicaiton she is taking now is affordable and we have plenty of time to try and correct the situation without surgery by changing her diet and attempting to shed some weight off of her. If anyone knows anything else that might be helpful please share.
Lately...
So here is the run down on what we have been doing lately...
Last week we attended the SBC convention in Louisville. Since we were going to be in town for a couple days we stayed with our good friends the May's. Ginger had fun playing with her old friend Allis and Abigail discovered fish! The May's have a really cool fish tank that I am totally jealous of and Aby had so much fun checking out the fish and all of the bubbles.

Before leaving Louisville we also stopped to have dinner with some friends that Stephen went to Criswell with that now live in Louisville. They have an adorable little girl names Abigail as well. Aby had fun playing with all of the toys at their house and I even learned a little something about her...she can stand! I stood her up on this

little toy that they have and Aby could hold herself up for a couple moments. Of course I have to stay very near because she will fall but it prompted me to purchase this for her when we got home....
(I bought it used for 1/2 price!!)
I snapped this on Saturday after our quick trip to Louisville for a baby shower. We also had some friends over that evening for a little birthday/fathers day BBQ...that I have no pictures of because I was enjoying myself to much to think about getting the camera out!

Lastly I thought I would mention Aby's pj's...I know this outfit is a little big but I thought it would be okay for her to sleep. When I put it on her she loved the bright colors and she was just staring down at herself for the longest time...it was so cute!

Father's Day.
As a Fathers day/Birthday present we decided to buy a grill. We have a huge backyard (that is now completely fenced off) and the weather is so nice this time of year we couldn't resist. We have been grilling out like it's going out of style...I love it!

Stephen decided that all he wanted to do for fathers day was take a nap...
We still had church services so afterwards we stopped at Qdouba (Stephen's favorite) and had a burrito!

I hope Stephen enjoyed his first Fathers Day!
